Studio Snapshot – 19th June 2026
Popular Colours This Week
Brighter colours have definitely been making an appearance this week, often paired with a nude base for a more wearable look. It has been a lovely balance between bold summer shades and softer, more natural manicures.
Nail Art Trends
Cat eye nails continue to be incredibly popular, particularly the silky, soft finishes that catch the light beautifully. Animal print details have made a return, alongside starfish accents and gemstone-inspired designs. It feels like clients are fully embracing summer nail art now.
News from the Studio
I’ve been spending some time working on my digital resources and updating them on the website behind the scenes.
I was also delighted to have my first student successfully complete and pass the online Japanese Manicure course. It’s always exciting to see a new course out in the world and helping nail technicians develop their skills.
Appointment and Course Bookings
June is now fully booked and July is looking busy too, for regular clients.
I have started taking bookings for August, although please bear in mind that the school holidays continue through August and I will be working reduced hours while spending time with the kids. As always, regular clients are encouraged to book ahead to secure their preferred appointments.
Training courses can be booked directly through the website, or feel free to get in touch by email or message if you need a different date or would like to discuss your training goals and create a personalised learning plan.
Nail Desk Chat
The weather has been a major topic of conversation this week. After enjoying some brief sunshine, the rain has returned and seems to have disrupted everything from school sports days to gardening plans and outdoor events.
There has also been plenty of holiday chat, with clients counting down to trips away and sharing travel plans for the summer months ahead.
Nails I Wanted to Steal This Week
My standout set this week was created for a client attending Royal Ascot. We chose a silky metallic cat eye finish with delicate gold chrome details to complement the print on her dress.
What I particularly loved about this set was that it was inspired by a previous design I had created for another client, but adapted to suit a completely different look and occasion. It had a minimal, quiet luxury feel to it, proving that nail art does not always have to be bold or complicated to make an impact. Elegant, understated and perfectly suited to the event.
