About Me

Hi, I’m Kirsty - a fully qualified, fully insured nail technician and educator based in Callander, Stirlingshire, in Central Scotland. I’m the founder of Paintbrush Nails, a creative manicure and nail education studio where I specialise in bespoke bridal and occasion nails, accredited 1-1 in-person training, and digital learning resources for aspiring nail professionals.

With over 10 years of teaching experience and a background in art and design, I combine technical knowledge with creativity to deliver beautiful results - whether it’s a personalised set of hand-painted nails or a professional training course tailored to your goals.

My Background

I hold an Honours degree in Design from Glasgow School of Art and originally trained as a jewellery designer. That early experience sparked my love for creating miniature, wearable art - something I now bring into every set of nails I design. I see nails as a form of self-expression: temporary, customisable, and ever-changing to suit your mood, your outfit, or the occasion.

Alongside my creative background, I’m a GTCS-registered teacher with over 10 years of classroom experience, and an accredited educator with The Guild of Nail Technicians. I now specialise in:

My Studio & Ethos

All treatments take place in my private studio using high-end, vegan, and cruelty-free products from trusted brands including Navy Professional, Twenty, Kokoist, Voesh, and Niba.

I’m known for creating bespoke bridal and occasion designs that help clients express their individual style. While my regular client list is currently full, I continue to take bookings for weddings and special events.

Education is a huge part of what I do. I believe that great nails start with great technique, and I love helping others grow in confidence through training that’s creative, supportive, and grounded in safe, professional practice.

Her garden studio is in picturesque Callander, and has a cosy and artistic atmosphere. It’s the perfect excuse to stop by some local shops before or after your appointment.
