Whether you’re a beginner starting a new career as a nail technician, or looking to build confidence and develop your existing skills, I can help you reach your full potential.
All Paintbrush Nails training courses are ABT accredited (enabling you to work professionally and obtain insurance on completion) and have been personally written and developed by me, drawing on my years of teaching experience and professional salon expertise. I also share real-world insight from my own experience working both in salons and as a self-employed nail technician, and offer continuing support after your course is complete.
After years of delivering pre-written training programmes, I wanted to create my own - courses that truly reflect the high standards of professional practice, hygiene, and safety I expect in the nail industry.
Every course is current and aligned with modern standards, best practice, and UK regulations, ensuring students learn to work safely and professionally.
Whether you’re just starting out or already qualified and looking to refresh your knowledge, refine your techniques, and rebuild confidence, these courses provide clear, supportive, and up-to-date training to help you progress.
Training is delivered in small, welcoming groups or one-to-one sessions, with plenty of personal guidance and hands-on learning to help you feel confident in your skills. All training takes place in my private nail studio in Callander, Stirling, Central Scotland - a relaxed, friendly environment with access to a wide range of products from high-end professional brands including STALEKS and Twenty Pro, plus the option to purchase recommended professional products if you wish.
Meet Your Educator
Hi, I’m Kirsty - founder of Paintbrush Nails and your educator here in my award-winning studio in Callander, Scotland.
With over 15 years of teaching experience and a background in art and design, I bring creativity and professionalism to every course I teach. While many nail educators hold the AET (Award in Education and Training) - an entry-level qualification for those starting out in teaching - my background goes further. I’m a fully qualified teacher with an Honours degree, two Postgraduate Diplomas, and a Master’s degree, allowing me to design training that’s structured, engaging, and easy to follow.
My goal is to help you build strong foundations, understand safe practice, and develop your own creative style in a supportive, small-group environment. All courses are accredited and designed to give you the confidence and skills to start your career in nails.

-
What do I need to bring to my course?
Paintbrush nails will provide everything required for the course to use on the day, you do not need to bring your own tools. You just need to bring your model.
-

Yes! You can now purchase my recommended professional products to accompany your course.
Check out my STALEKS edit here on the website. You can order your tools online and then collect on the day of your course and you can also buy products on the day.
-
Will I need to bring a model with me for my course?
Students must arrange to bring a model to work on during their course who will be required on and off through out the day. (Not the at-home course).
Models requirements are on the individual course descriptions e.g no product on their nails or specific product on their nails and they must be happy to have photos/ videos of their nails taken.
-
Can I reschedule or cancel my course?
Course bookings are non-refundable but every effort will be made to reschedule your booking if necessary, given adequate notice. Please be aware though that courses do book up in advance and that I am also very busy with my own regular client bookings so you may have a considerable wait if you need to change your nail training course booking.
-
What should I wear to attend my course?
Students should be dressed in salon clothing when learning at the accredited training centre (if you have it) otherwise comfortable, practical clothing is absolutely fine with closed toe shoes. Long hair should be tied back and minimal jewellery worn. Aprons will be supplied to wear during your course but please do not come dressed in your best clothes just incase!
-
Will I get a lunch break during the course?
Yes! Students will have a break for lunch during your nail courses and are welcome to go out for lunch with your model (many will treat their models to lunch or a coffee as a thank you!) There are lots of nice cafes, bakeries and coffee shops within easy walking distance. The courses can be quite intense so it is good to get out for a walk and have a break.
-
How do I pay for my course?
Courses are paid for at the time of booking, you will have the option to spread the cost if you want to when you checkout.
-
How many people will be in my class?
Nail technician training courses at Paintbrush Nails are 1-1 or 1-2 in order to give the best possible support compared to that in a college, classroom environment. Learning is tailored to your individual needs and pace.
