Scottish Nail Artist, Educator & Creative Professional

I’m Kirsty Brown, the nail artist and educator behind Paintbrush Nails, based in Callander, Scotland.

My background combines professional nail artistry with art, design and education. I have a BA (Hons) from Glasgow School of Art and a PGDE in Art & Design Education, with experience teaching creative skills across different ages, stages and learning environments.

Today, my work spans nail artistry, professional nail education, online learning and writing. Through Paintbrush Nails, I research, write and develop my own professional nail training courses, taking them through independent accreditation before delivering them through one-to-one training in Scotland.

I also create online courses, workshops, eBooks and educational resources for nail professionals through the Paintbrush Nails Learning Library.

Creativity remains an important part of my practice. My nail work is influenced by art, fashion, colour, pattern and the world around me, with a particular interest in translating visual inspiration into original, wearable nail art.
