Mediterranean-Inspired Nails: From Holiday Fashion to Nail Art

There’s no reason nail art inspiration has to come from other nails. For this set, my client was heading off on holiday and wanted her manicure to coordinate with her bikini and the overall feel of her holiday wardrobe. We took the blue, white and little touches of yellow from her inspiration and turned them into a completely personalised nail design.

Fashion-inspired nail art

I kept the base soft and natural using Elle by Twenty Pro, then added hand-painted French tips incorporating blue and white tile-inspired patterns with small yellow details.

Each nail is slightly different, but keeping the same limited colour palette running throughout brings the whole set together.

The finished design has a Mediterranean feel without being too literal, bright, summery and designed specifically around what my client would be wearing on holiday.

It’s one of the things I enjoy most about bespoke nail art. Inspiration can come from fashion, textiles, jewellery, architecture, nature or almost anything else. You can take the colours, patterns or details that catch your eye and translate them into something completely new for the nails.
