Another busy week in the studio! It’s been a mix of bold colour choices, minimal details, a surprise visit from a mystery shopper - and a lovely end to the week with a new student taking their first step into the nail industry.
Popular Colours This Week: Pinks are still going strong, with warm-toned shades making a comeback too. One of the standout sets this week was a bright green abstract design using Kokoist x Nail Thoughts “Green Thing” - a super fun, vibrant colour that really turns heads.
Nail Art Trends: It’s been all about the plain colour sets this week. Most clients have chosen a beautiful shade and kept it simple with minimal art - think clean lines or tiny cuticle dots. Sometimes less really is more!
News From the Studio: Midweek brought a bit of excitement with a surprise visit from a Scratch Stars Awards mystery shopper - right in the middle of a packed day! It’s always a bit nerve-wracking but exciting to be part of the process.
To round off the week, I held a 1-to-1 manicure training session in the studio. It’s always so lovely supporting new students at the very beginning of their nail journey - this student is just getting started with professional training and it was a great reminder of why I love teaching.
Appointment Bookings: If you’ve got a summer holiday booked, please get your nail appointments secured now. June, July, and August are always much busier with weddings and school holidays, and regular clients will be given priority. Get in touch soon to avoid missing your preferred date.
Nail Desk Chat: Of course, this week’s hot topic was the Met Gala - from the dresses to the nails, there was plenty to chat about! Whether it was barely-there elegance or full-glam looks, it’s always fun to dissect red carpet beauty and get different clients takes on it across the week.
Nails I Wanted to Steal This Week: Kokoist “Bubblegum” is seriously wearing me down - this colour has been on heavy rotation lately and I’m definitely tempted to go for it myself. I also loved the bright green “Green Thing” abstract set from midweek. I can definitely see more clients going for bolder, statement shades as we move into summer.
